Default OBD 1 Warnings

I realize our cars are OBD 1, but I'm still not familiar with what the computer will tell you about the car and how it is running. Will the ZR-1 tell the owner if the car is misfiring? Can it tell if some sensors are not working correctly and flip the check engine light on?

Part of me thinks my car may have a slight misfire under certain loads. It would be helpful if the computer would indicate issues with the engine similar to how OBD II works.

Nope, misfire detection is not in OBD 1 - however, there are about 40 basic error codes - a factory service manual has them all listed and described.
