Default Lime Rock ZR-1 GTG Memorial Day Weekend

Probably too late to order and receive by mail. So you can still order your pass online for the Corvette Corral, but have to pick it up at
Will Call near the ticket booth

Northeast ZR-1ers, all ZR-1ers from everywhere and those who wish they were…
This will be a 3-day event as racing will begin on Saturday, observe the local “no racing” ordinance on Sunday (car show) and resume on Monday. Attend 1 day, 2 days or all 3!
Our very own Mark Horner, ZR-1 Net Registry president, will be competing in the accompanying SVRA events this weekend with his ex-SCCA PRO World Challenge Series Corvette racecar! Come on out and cheer him on!

On Saturday there’s a “Corvette Corral”, Sunday a great car show with several hundred cars on display and Monday another “Corvette Corral”. The Corvette Corrals will be will be where we will all park together. Corrals have an extra fee above the admission ticket and must be bought online prior to the event. Veterans and active duty have FREE admission to the track for all events (but not for the Corrals). You may need an ID card or DD214 etc., but usually, you just tell them…. There’s also a very good possibility of a track tours Saturday and Monday with our Zs!

From the ZR-1 Net Registry management in an earlier email:
Northeast ZR-1 Gathering, May 24 - 26
It has been many years since we’ve had a ZR-1 get-together at Lime Rock Park, in Lakeville, CT. We are coming back in 2019 during the Memorial Day Motorsports Festival. Racing will open with the vintage sprint series, and include the Trans Am and International GT series races. We will be coordinating with our hospitable guests in the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association to garner a central location for our ZR-1s, as well as working to get our ZR-1s on the historic Lime Rock Park Track, where historic ZR-1 race cars once dominated the SCCA-PRO World Challenge Series. For more information, please contact Doug Marshall at dmarshall2003@comcast.net.

From the Lime Rock Website:
Sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, Trans Am features 70-plus car grids populated by Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and Corvettes — a massive dose of pure Americana with a touch of nostalgia. The Trans Am Series began igniting the passion of motorsports fans in 1966 and has been home to some of the greatest names in road racing. Today, Trans Am continues to honor its legacy, while challenging the status quo in racing through a driver-oriented focus and fan-focused events. Visit http://gotransam.com for more.

From 200 mph Indy and Formula 1 cars to classic Jaguars and Porsches, SVRA events provide a “rolling history” of motorsport. Yet these vintage race cars are from more recent decades than the VSCCA cars that race here during the Labor Day Historic Festival. SVRA is one of the oldest organizations in vintage racing, and the only one with a national presence, offering endurance racing events across the country. Visit https://svra.com for more.

As usual, youths 16 and under are free, and general parking and paddock access are free, too.

Note: Our policy of free General Admission for Veterans and Active Military for all spectator events is extended to their immediate families, too, for the Memorial Day weekend event.
