Default "New" seats!

I installed my "new" 95 (standard) seats yesterday: no more left leg falling asleep after 2-3 hours!

These are the seats identical to the ones in my LT1 95 car which I found I could sit in comfortably - my bladder being the limiting factor and not my butt!

My interior is red/black, so the black seats blend right in, methinks. Later, mebby next winter, I'll go the route =Jeff= did and do the seat cushion and the center section of the seat back in RED.

New carpeting is definitely on the list for next winter, if not sooner. Out goes the "Flame Red" and in goes "Torch Red"...perhaps?? (Something more closely matching the exterior and door trim panels, would be my preference.)

For those who have have never done it, few things are easier to do than swap seats, I found. I expected a hassle (as usual). But,-
  • No need to remove the track at all.
  • just un-hook the bottom cushion and lift it up,
  • disconnect the 2-wire plug (leaving the multi-pin connector to the rail motors alone)
  • pull the four bolts (access from above the top side of the seat frame) that hold the seat frame to the track.
  • pull the seat out and bolt the new one to the track and reinstall the cushion. VOILA!!

The seats are still moved back and forth by the console switches, and the whole process took about 1/2 hour.

HTH,

P.

Now all you need is a motor to complete the transformation.

Oh...details, details...

The paint part went well, methinks.

Still holding out hope to have it together in a couple weeks (in time for BG).

okay I know this is kind of dumb, but what happens to all the controls that the 90 sport seats had built into each thigh bolster? They become non-functioning with the swap, right?

TIA

Tom
