Exclamation AVOID CLUCH MASTER RHINOPAC M0408

Registry... Avoid Rhino pac M0408 as a Clutch Master replacement.

I recently replaced my leaking and still working master cylinder with the above OEM replacement. It would not even go into gear after the R&R. 3 hrs lost !!! Made in China. It was sent back for a refund.

I was lucky enough to find a AC/DELCO replacement I bought from Jerry's gaskets I forgot about in my parts crib. I noticed on the factory box made in Taiwan.

However this one worked as it should. Just sharing, I realize every mfg has a bad day but this one cost me 3 hrs of labor I will never see again. GC

I haven't heard many success stories from anyone using one of these aftermarket master or slave cylinders. I sent my old ones to Jim Janick and had him rebuild mine.

I ordered a new one from Ecklers and it worked like a champ. The flange is a bit thinner, but once it was fully bled everything was perfect. Worth noting that on their site it says there is no pushrod and they "assume you'll be using your original" but my new one came with a new pushrod.

Did the first one have a bad internal seal or something?

Keep chiming in with the good advice, I'm listening.

My daily driver Z has been showing symptoms of Master Cylinder & Slave issues, and I'll be reading up on this fix. Please post links, part numbers, and tips ...thanks.

I bought a rebuilt slave from Jim Jandik @ Power Torque Systems and a new master from Ecklers, at different times, and both have been "one and done" experiences, perfect. Of the two, I'd say the slave was the harder job. Next time I'd drop the exhaust just to gain a little more room.

We replaced both the master and slave a few years ago. Replaced with local parts, would have to look up the brand and part #'s. The replacement parts are working well to this day.
The original slave did get destroyed during removal, so it was toast. Sent both out to Jim anyway, rebuilt the master and purchased another "original" slave from him for future need when necessary. Always good to have a spare, as the originals are getting harder to find.
