Default Mark Horner's article in America's Sportscar magazine

Mark (Vette Guy), great article in America's Sportscar Magazine on racing your Challenge Series C4. Excellent publicity for the ZR-1 Net Registry and for racing of C4s in general. And very well written. Nice job --Bob

I'll bet it's a good read.

Any easy way to get it?

I was just going to start a thread, but decided to check first.
Bob, you came in first! I'll just add my thoughts here:

Are you a member of the NCM (National Corvette Museum)?
Did you get the latest issue of "America's Sports Car"?

Our ZR-1 Net Registry President, Mark Horner, authored
the included article
"Vintage Racing and How You Too Can Get On The Grid"
Pictures and all. I'd post some, but you know Photo*ucket..

Congratulations, Mark!

Congratulations indeed, Mark. It's a great read and, as noted, great exposure for the C4 gen.

Thanks guys! I've really enjoyed making this dream come true, and if my passion for racing is just a little contagious, then I've accomplished what I set out to do with the article.

I've had so much support from so many in the Registry - From getting the car running and race prepped, to providing me with a lot of advice from years of racing experience, to helping me fix the car in the pits between practice/qual/race sessions.....even flying across the country / coming in from Canada to support me at the races.

I can't describe the feeling of being out on track and surrounded by Morrison and Bakeracing cars, including the Morrison Snake Skinner, and feeling the rush of the moment - the speed, adrenaline, roar of engines, smell of rubber and thinking about nothing more than navigating the next turn at speeds greater than you'd believe were possible.

Best yet, during the Brickyard Invitational at Indy, I got to race with my good friend Brett Henderson in his Challenge Car. If it wasn't for Brett and meeting him through the Registry, I wouldn't have my car. We'd been talking about racing at Indy for years, and this was another dream come true.

With the help of Joe, AKA 'Diamond ZR-1', I'll be putting a fresh Challenge engine in the car this coming week and then get it sorted out. If I can, VIR is next in Sept, but not definite. What I won't miss is the U.S. Vintage National Championship at the Circuit of the Americas in November. Austin is great during this part of the year, and we'd love to have anyone interested in vintage racing…. We'll help make a driver out of you!

Thanks for all the kind words and all the support!

Mark
