Default Forced air system? Modifying air box? Any thoughts?

I have seen some Zs with horizontal slits where the license plate frame is...
I am a new Z owner but not new to owning performance cars..Of course the more air flow you get the bigger your power gains will be....

Just wondering is this a system you purchase? Is there something fabricated to the air box that directs the air into it? Actually the openings look nice on the front of the car....

Also, cutting away the aluminum in the middle where the air filter sits, will that increase performance? More air is getting in that way but I'm sure the power gains are minimal.....Have any members done this to there air box housing?

Thanks....

All of the above have been done and a few other conceptual devices. My personal experience and tests performed by others, has not yielded any real, empirical power gains that are present outside of normal dyno variances.

That is the A/O forced air induction system that is no longer made. I believe somebody purchased the remaining rights and etc from them.

I do not know of any true forced air kit in the market for the C4.

Best thing to do is cut the air filter lid to expose as much of the filter possible.

The only time you may get a modest "ram air" affect is at top end. The dyno will show no change for obvious reasons.
