Default Tommy Morrison

I see Tommy Morrison is being inducted in the hall of fame at the NCM 23 anniversary in lat August. He was really sick a year or so ago. Is he recovered? Noticed all three inducties were heavily involved with our zr-1's back in the day. I hope to drive my z back again for this event!

I'm Melissa Wood, Tommy Morrison's oldest child. I first want to thank all of you who have expressed heartfelt concern and well wishes for Daddy. He did suffer a massive stroke on Christmas Eve in 2014 whole visiting me in Savannah, GA. This led to him relocating to Savannah with me and my family for 2 years due to the need for caregiving. He always wears his ZR-1 racing jacket and eve been watching races together.

Unfortunately due to the stroke and asbestosis which had already onset, he has developed Alzheimer's. He's now with my brother Bobby in Albany, Ga where he wants to be.

He, and the whole Morrison Clan, are deeply honored to have him inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame this year. His contributions to Corvette Acing for 20+ years were things people only dream about. I'm proud to have been able to watch him do it the "Tommy Way".

He would love to hear from people so if you would like to reach out to him, shoot me a direct message and I will work with you to get in touch with him.

Real racers turn left... and right.

Thank you very much, Melissa. Your proudness is well justified. Your father added a great deal to Corvette heritage. We are all glad he is being recognized and inducted.

I visited your father's shop in Albany in the late 80's and it is a memory I cherish. I was on a rival Corvette racing team at the time, and he had no problem with showing me all around. Perhaps there were some racing speed secrets he kept out of my site. :-)

It may have helped that my family is originally from Albany. I feel a bit of proudness myself to be from the same town.

So glad to see that Tommy is going to be inducted to the HOF. It is about time!

God bless Tommy and his family. His is one if not the first name that comes to mind whenever, where ever Corvette racing is discussed. And, I'm proud to own a piece of the history your dad emblazoned in the minds of racing.

Congratulations, Tommy! Well done!

And, thank you, Melissa for coming on board and giving us this update.

Like Paul said I am also very happy your father will be inducted into the HOF . I also raced against your dad in the Escort Endurance Series in a few 24 hr events and his team cars were always the fastest of the gang . Thank you for this update . We are all very proud of your dad for making the Corvette name such and icon and impressing the world with the LT5 24 endurance run.

Thank you for the update. I'm proud to know Tommy and even more proud to have owned two of his former race cars. Still own one.

Can we or I pay to have this years ZR-1 registry t shirt sent to him? I think he might like to have one. It's a great rendition of the record setting ZR-1.
