Bose Amp Capacitor Question
I was getting ready to repair one of my Bose Amps when I noticed that Radio Shack no longer carries the 16V capacitors. They only carry 35V now. Does anyone know if the 35V would work or another source for the 16V capacitors. Thanks a million!

It''s been a long time when I use to fix computers but I think you can use the 35v without problem.

Dean - I take it you own a ZR1? A $20000+ car (min.). Bose sent me new amps for $55 bucks a piece with a lifetime warranty. I looked at my amps for about 1 minute before I decided it would be easier to just get new ones. Good luck either way!

Do you have the contact information for Bose? I thought they were much more expensive than that. The lifetime guarantee would be great as well because they continue to go bad. I've already had one go bad on my 2000 also.

The Bose people were great to deal with. Sent in my old amps and about 2 weeks later I received brand new amps with brand new wiring harnesses. I think the new amps put out more power too because my stereo now rocks! I also sent in my head unit to Dr. Dons and he put in a new CD mechanism that can read CDR's. I think that ran about $250.

Hi. On electrolitic caps, Keep capasitance the same,voltage can be the same or higher. examp..16Mf10volt could be repaced with 16Mf 50 volt. The curcuits are very small in the amps, it is easy to pull traces when the caps are removed. It took me about 30 min per amp to replace all caps. Jameco.com has all caps needed.
