You hit it on the head! We just need to make sure there is at least 800ppm of ZDP, at least 1000ppm if your cam or valve train is modified. From there it's a matter of what your personal needs are in an oil.

I will be using Amzoil as recommended and used my Marc Haibeck although I have no problem with versions of Mobile 1 that meet the 800ppm requirement.

Here is the other question how many ppm's would someone need with bigger cams.
From my understanding you'd need 1100-1200ppm.

It would be nice if we knew what ppm all or most popular brand oils have.

Great article and my take away from it is if you are not breaking in a new cam then these oils will work for the LT5.

Shell Rotella T 10W30
Chevron's new "Delo 400 LE" 10W30
Valvoline VR-1 Racing Oil
Mobil 1 High-Mileage 10W30
Joe Gibbs Hot Rod Oil 10W30
Red Line Synthetic Oil 10W30

Some of the above could be used in a break in situation but I was not focusing on that. I was looking for what is currently acceptable for LT5 already broke in. I picked these from the article and there are others, maybe someone can fill in the others. Please correct any mistakes I have made. Trust me when I say I am not an expert.

It's actually available on most Oil Company websites.

Here for example is a link the the Mobil1 spec's

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Files/Mobil_1_Product_Guide.pdf

Haibeck recommends Amsoil Synthetic 10-40 AMO with Zinc 1378ppm and Phosphorus 1265ppm

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/amo.aspx
