Default Re: Daily driving a ZR-1

Yes the Z is still for sale, but I'll admit to a few second thoughts. We bought a new Subaru Crosstrek last week, 5sp AWD, will make a great car to tow behind the motorhome. I've been driving the Subaru the last few days and it's a really nice car that I like a lot, but it definitely wanders a bit on the highway, has a lot of body roll, and is generally more tiring to drive for extended periods. I'm so used to the rock-solid stability of the Z, the very mechanical gearchange and the firm clutch, that the Subie definitely suffers by comparison - light clutch, rubbery shifter, and wallowy/wandering manner. I can drive the Z all day long and feel completely fresh when I get there, but the Crosstrek is more tiring.

I have not taken it off road yet, but I will and I expect it will destroy the Z in that arena! It will also be much happier behind a motorhome.
