Re: 2019 ZR1 @ Drag Strip WTH!!!
Looks like driver issues. he said he had a 2.3 60' time, his reaction time in the first one was terrible as you can see from the light. So my guess is he broke traction mid track or something like that.

Re: 2019 ZR1 @ Drag Strip WTH!!!
That first run he was out of the throttle before he was through the mph trap. Appears to have shut down before the finish line.
All else equal, the mph would increase with some more miles. These arent the lightest Vettes either. That orange #4 ZR1 did dyno at 688rwhp. A 2016 ZO6 has run a 10.0@132.7mph (Road & Track)with ONLY 650hp/650lb/ft torque. I am seeing reports of 10.12@ 135 for stock 2019 ZR1's.

Re: 2019 ZR1 @ Drag Strip WTH!!!
The 8 speed auto allows for drama free launches. 1.58 60ft, stock torque converter, and the stock (auto) 2.41 rear gear and it's 1st gear ratio of 4.56:1 ,
2nd 2.97 3rd 2.08 4th 1.69 5th 1.27 6th 1.00 7th 0.85 8th 0.65 As we saw, the auto equipped '19 ZR1 was decently into 5th gear as it trapped. The manual 7 (TR6070) speed gets the 3.42:1 rear gear and if the Z06 and ZR1 share the same TR-6070 trans ratios, it will have a 2.97:1 1st gear 2nd 1.61, 3rd 1.21 4th 1.00 5th 0.82 6th 0.68 7th 0.45

Re: 2019 ZR1 @ Drag Strip WTH!!!
You are correct, both Z’s use the same manual, but the ZR-1 has s torque reduction to protect the 1st 3 gears. The auto is likely faster.

It is so you don’t have a drivetrain failure.

Re: 2019 ZR1 @ Drag Strip WTH!!!
There aren't many GM vehicles built since 1992-93 with the advent of the 4l60e transmission that don't have some sort or torque reduction or torque management. It was usually reserved for automatic transmission equipped vehicles. Many would drop engine timing advance during upshifts.
I wonder how the application of torque through a clutch as in the manual differs compared to the application of torque through a torque converter as in the auto trans vehicles? Are the manual cars more apt to have the front end swap positions with the rearend? Torque reductions is mentioned as part of the many nanny controls of the new Z. Active handling stability control with traction control

There is a “ kind of predictive algorithm found in the dual clutch (automatics) to prepare for the next likely shift,” Alex MacDonald, Chevrolet’s Vehicle Performance ma manager.
