You must have caught him during a very busy time because I personally know him to be willing to spend great deals of his time talking and answering questions for ZR-1 owners, even if he will not be seeing the work. I do know he is less likely to respond to emails, so try giving him another call before throwing in the towel. Just let him know what happened and he will take some time with you.

As to the two mentioned earlier, here are their websites.

I am sure he was just busy because he has an excellent reputation. I will try again down the road.

yes,it does cancel the 1-4 shift idiocy, and lowers underhood temperature, resulting in slightly more power..it also improves the idle quality...any gm dealer should be able to order it for you...i dont know the part number, but the description should say AYBK,or something similar, and was part of a service bulletin issued from gm,for customers complaining about bad idle and lack of power when hot..im no zr-1 guru, but it did make my car happy

No stock chips disable the 1 4 shift pattern, its a epa thing. To my knowledge they do not change the temp on for fans in this calibration, it does address the other problems noted.

The only way to address the 1 4 thing is to disconnect the wires from the sensor or have a tuner disable it in the calibration, same with the fan on temps.

i bought this improved calibration after reading mark haybeck`s site...my car`s 1-4 shift was disabled after installing the new calibration.as mark said it would..you can read the results on mark`s site under calibration for 1990..imo,its the best bang for the buck, for a stocker....mark also said 10%more torque because of more consistent underhood temperature, although i never mentionned the fans...jmo,anyway

I was planning on buying Mark's chip. Is there anything to do other than opening the ECM and changing chips?
