Caravan from New England to BG for the Gathering in May????

I just figured it would be cool to combine caravans if possible. Oh, may I have your zip code so I'm sure I'm using the correct Westminister, MD......I saw two in Maryland so far.

I agree! Combining the caravans sounds great. One of the benefits of being part of this great Brotherhood is to have travel buddies all over the USA.

My zip is 21157. The correct spelling is Westminster. A lot of people add the extra "i".

Has anybody contacted this new owner from Massachusetts to see if he wants to join the Northeast Caravan?

Going to Bowling Green for the ZR-1 Gathering (or to Corvettes at Carlisle) is one of the best ways to become a part of the ZR-1 Community. It worked for me!!!

Thanks for the invite but I can't make it in May, I have limited vacation time and this is just too short notice.

For the record I live in No.Attleboro, MA. Just over the Rhode Island line.

Picking up the car got postponed until Saturday due to a snafu with the insurance

Okay, just figured to be "neighborly"

Hey, I'm Tom....if you get jammed up and need help I'm down near the CT / NY line by Greenwich....it ain't that far to RI & I have tools & FSM for a 90 & a scanner with software that should cover a 91.....if you have a garage, a jack & stands & need assistance sing out. Just have to water & feed me!

I'm not a black belt in ZR-1's, but on most of the simple stuff I think I'm okay & maybe able to help.

Okay guys I was looking over Jim's location ( Westminster, MD ) and it's about 11 hrs from Jim to BG.

Also from Carlisle to Jim's is a short poke of about 1.5 hrs, about 60 miles. For us that's a really short drive (relatively speaking also a short driving day) to make it our stopping point on day one. If we overnight in/or near Huntington, WV it's a 4.5 to 5 hr drive to BG.

So I looked at the mapquest routes from Westminster to BG for likely places to make a meet point.
I found obviously Charleston & Huntington WV...along the 79 / 64 corridor. Any one have an opinion they want to share? I'm all ears fellers.

Harrisburg to Charleston WV is 366 miles about 6 hours
Harrisburg to Morgantown WV is 214 miles about 3 hrs 38 minutes

If we stop in Charleston overnight that would be about 11 hours of driving first day for me, leaving 5 hrs for the second day.

We could wait for Jim's group in Charleston and join him as he passes through???

The Northeast Caravan planning is making good progress.

For your info, I am not traveling to BG on the day you guys are. I am leaving Sunday or Monday and driving to St Louis to meet up with the Northwest Caravan, then drive to BG.

There are other guys fron the WAZOO area that may want to hook up with your Northeast Caravan. I will see some of them this Saturday.

John, Thank you for speaking up. I figured that since you and maybe Doug have the longest first stint in the car that we should all be mindful of that fact.

If we stop over at either Charleston or Morgantown, we should be in an intercept position or close to an intercept position to catch the WAZOO boys....those are my feelings on the subject.

I have never been out that way. It would be nice to get to Charleston. Does anyone know about motel availability in Charleston or Morgantown or even somewhere in between?

I'll try to research it.
