Sorry, we didn't mean to sidetrack your thread. My humble findings & opinions:
Grand Sport calipers are an easy swap as they are a straight replacement. Not much
performance improvement but more bling.
C5 calipers are a performance improvement, but will they fit inside your rims?
If they don't and you have to get new rims anyway, why not go all the way with
either C6 Z06 or Willwood/Brembo big boy calipers? 6 pad/piston and larger rotors.
Yep, need adapters, new brake lines, banjos. For me, the hardest piece was adapters
that fit and worked correctly.

This configuration uses both front and rear C6Z06 calipers and rotors. The front calipers are pretty straight forward and the conversion is not any different than adapting C5 calipers. The rotors and calipers will add unsprung weight to the car. The stopping power has you never being concerned about how quickly you can come down from speed. You don't need much pedal pressure to slow down.
Finally, forget about using spare. So I unloaded the tire carrier from the rear. Frankly, I didn't have much faith in spare maintaining air anyway. Bought a Continental tire kit in case of puncture.

Do you think it will fit under 18 inch Shelby wheels?

Not without significant grinding of the front calipers. Think =Jeff= looked at that.
It's not just a question of circumference or drum but also caliper face clearance. The Z06 wheels have split spokes pushed to the outer edge of the wheel. Shelbys hub is inset. However, you can see that tf95 has them using FISKE(?) wheels.

Ted I don't think the C6 ZO6 calipers will fit behind his 18 inch Shelbys. If he sticks with those wheels I don't think spacers, grinding etc will allow them to fit. GC
