We're still pretty quite in NH. Cases are rare, but we've been "stay at home" for weeks. I'm afraid people will start to get lazy and careless. Yesterday I had my barber come to my office for group cuts, not a great idea, but we were getting pretty shabby looking. She did 5 cuts and walked out with $300. I told the guys I would pay for the cuts, but they had to tip her. They want to know if we can do it once a month.

Don’t be foolish. You think it can’t happen to you, but there are a lot of asymptotic people in the population. Look how Boston is being impacted and a lot of people work in Boston and live in NH. “Live without a haircut or Die” on your license plate.

Oh, I don't think "it can't happen to me".

I dont think anyone really thinks it cant happen to them, just that it probably wont... Look at the big picture... 330 million people in the US alone and were not at 1 million cases yet and the death rate is 50k... MUCH lower than projected. Lets say it because we havent tested everyone and double it.... still no where near what the projections were.

I think allot of that has to do with many people already having the virus and had normal flu like symptoms. Its coming to light now that its been around since November last year.... Getting the virus is not an automatic death sentence. MOST people who get it, recover from it.

In addition, the media is grossly sensationalizing the entire thing. That is the cause of the panic in my opinion.

I used to think exactly like that.....................

Now NJ, as tiny as we are, has 5,000 deaths.
Mostly all North Jersey, but getting too close and too many for comfort.
Throw in the few counties of NY and you have over 35,000 deaths 100 miles north of my computer.

I am getting VERY nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (( make that scared))

I am older with other issues.

Prayers welcome!

I am returning the favor!

Marty

Same deal here in Eastern Connecticut.
It’s here, but not too bad (relatively speaking...) the other end of the state, 100 miles west of my computer, near New York City, is getting whacked.
Stay safe all!
We’ll be back to burnin’ rubber before ya know it!

I don't usually read anything but General, Technical & For Sale sections, so just now checking in.

My household is just 3, me, Karen & her identical twin sister, Sharen. We are all in the higher risk category due to age, but Sharen has more severe health issues that put her at even higher risk. We "sort-of" started self-confinement on 13Mar and "hard-core" on 16Mar. Any one of us becomes infected, it gets very serious.

We do groceries through the WalMart program, order, schedule, they load you out in the parking lot. In the beginning, limited quantities, selection much less than normal. and unavailable in some cases. Amazon has been good too.

We are blessed, live in the country on acreage. Oklahoma not densely populated but have lots of interstate traffic, I35/I40 crossroads and over 100 casinos in the state which attracted a lot of transient visitors until they all agreed to close.

The worst part is not being able to get close to our kids and grandchildren. All working, 2 in health care, ER doctor & ER nurse. A son who has been moonlighting, spraying disinfectant in large buildings. Naturally we worry a great deal about them.

Jerrys Gaskets has not missed a beat with orders being at normal levels. The international customers have been experiencing significant delays due to the the pandemic's effect on air travel & border quarantines.

Our direct feed for information from 2 different hospital ER's (through our DR & RN children has been insightful. Shortages of personal protective equipment caused a lot of concern, along with adequate & reliable testing capability. Lots of prayers and all remain healthy.

The outlooks remains much the same for us, until an effective treatment or vaccine becomes available. Reliable, instant testing would allow us to resume closer relations with the family in the interim. Fortunately, Oklahoma has a lot of beautiful country, parks & lakes and rural roads. We are blessed.

We’re in the same boat and sheltering in place and online ordering only. I do take the Z out for a 30 minute exercise every 2 weeks. Clears my head and carbon in the cylinders.

Hang in there, until it’s safe for us, elderly with health issues.
