Anybody ever try to run 17x11 wheels and tires in the front?? I have 17x9.5 on my fronts with 56mm offset and 17x11 wheels on the rear with 50mm offset but with 19mm billet concentric spacers to bring the wheels out like a normal zr1.

I have seen some guys put the exact 17x11 wheel with 50mm offset with the 315 tire on the front of the cars and they look real nice. That deep dish look is on the front as well as the rear giving the car a very aggressive track look. Anybody ever try that??? Very few cars have this set up and I was wondering if there was some reason why it has not caught up. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I have seen a local '96 Collector's Edition with 17x11" 50mm ofset on all four corners. They were running 295's on the front. Looked good.

I think user 'Brian Cunningham' on CF and vettte guru has 11's x 335's on all 4 corners.

My last competition wheel setup was 4 clone A-Molds at 11" on all four corners, running 315 in front and 335 in back. Don't know the offset but they needed the ~5/8ths DRM spacer in back with longer studs. The tires I run are cantilever slicks and they rub slightly in front at full lock, I added a 1mm shim because that's all I had - probably should have 2-3mm but I'd bet a normal street tire would be OK.

thanks for the info. I am trying to score a set of 17x11 rims and tires because I just like that balanced big tire look front and rear. I bet your car looked great. did all that rubber make it handle better?? how did your power steering pump like all that tire in front?? did the car drive any differently?

Well I'll bet my car drives a bit different from most here

Autocross is hell on power steering, partly from the duty (always turning, HARD!) and partly from the giant slicks. Plus I made it worse by changing to the quick rack. After much havoc I got a "stock replacement pump" from Turn One, problem solved.

I will say the weight difference from the very heavy clone A-Molds to the CCWs made a difference to the steering too.

the 315 335 or 345 combo works pretty well with the right offsets

just be careful to keep the tire diameters close front to rear or you'll trip the ABS

a special reluctor gear can fix that now

I am going with the same size rims and tires on all four. 17x11 deep dish chrome a molds front and rear. 315x35x17 from and rear. rear wheels have hubcentric spacers of 19mm since rims are 50mm offset. fronts will bolt on no problem. It has been confirmed that vredestein 315 tires will not rub at all in the fronts even in total lock position. Apparently they are a little narrower than other 315 tires even though they say 315 width. This is not a track car so ultra light wheels are not a requirement. This is for street looks and handling which will be fantastic.

I will be selling my brand new 17x9.5 front a molds with new vredestein tires as soon as I mount these. Both rim and tires cost new 708.00. Will sell for half.
