Default CA New Speed Laws for 99 and I5??

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A new California bill was introduced that would add additional lanes to northbound and southbound Interstate-5 and Highway-99, with the caveat that those new lanes would have no maximum speed limit.

And just when I was thinking CA is Over Regulated
Now if we could get High Speed Lanes on I15 to Vegas

Imagine That...……..150 mph on I5 or 99

It won’t pass in my opinion. Higher speeds mean more gas consumed and is contrary to CA tree huggers!

Sure it will, This is just the 1st phase. I guarantee you there will be a second stage, Mandatory Vehicle inspections at $100 a pop a year.

Wait until you get behind 2 Tesla’s trying to pass each other. The Tesla’s Model S P85D, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive vehicle has a governed top speed of 155 mph. The other Tesla’s have lower governor limits. [emoji16][emoji23]

It beats having some hooptie loose a wheel and take you out at 120

Today's high end cars can easily handle that speed safely, and so can a small amount of drivers. If you want to drive like Germans you have to understand what they do; strict passing rules, high vehicle condition standards.. I support this, but you gotta make it so you need a special pass to do it. Pass fees could offset concrete maintenance and increased greenhouse gasses.

Where’s the money coming from to add the additional roadway?

"SB 319 was introduced after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced last week that the state is abandoning its ambitious $77 billion plan to build a high-speed rail from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and will instead focus on finishing a smaller section of the line in the Central Valley.

Republican State Senator John Moorlach of Orange County proposed SB 319, which would create two additional lanes on northbound and southbound I-5 and State Route 99, and those lanes would be exempt from speed limits.

Under Moorlach's proposal, money from the existing Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund would be allocated to help fund the construction of the additional traffic lanes."

Here’s the irony in this BS,Trump wants some of tat Federal money back that was wasted on the high speed rail, and he will use that money on the wall, the wall that the douche bags in Sacramento are fighting so hard against.
