Default Our ZR-1 at a big indoors car show.

We were asked to show our Z at a big indoors car show this weekend, invited cars only. It was very nice and a lot of different cars and bikes were on display.20180923_135332.jpg20180923_135300.jpgFB_IMG_1537692596702.jpg20180923_132844.jpg20180923_132630.jpg20180923_132815.jpg

Great looking car and what a nice place to show off your ZR-1! Hopefully you don’t get trapped in there from a freak snowstorm!

Thanks. It rained quite a bit going home, but with wipers and heater there is no excuse not to go places. Show AND go is our way, no fun hiding in the garage.

True that, it hibernates thru the winter. Besides, wet roads are more than slippery enough [emoji16]

Back in the late '90s or thereabouts, our ZR-1 Registry (the old one) had a group get together at the Chevy/Vettefest (a big show like the one in Norway) which at the time was held in late November at McCormick Place in Chicago. Went down on Friday and due to fire regs had to reduce our gas tanks to two bars--not enough to get home 35 miles north. On Sunday when the all-weekend show was over and we were required to leave the building that evening, a freak storm had dropped 6" of snow. A group of ZR-1s drove a mile or so north slipping and sliding to the nearest gas station to fill up, then I drove up to Lake Bluff. Took about an hour and a half, but the limited slip diff, starting by lugging it in second gear, using very little throttle or revs and leaving plenty of room for stops and turns got me home safely. All in all, The 450 HP '93 ZR-1 on summer performance tires acquitted itself very well. Never got stuck, but I also tried to keep moving at all times just in case. A night to remember. --Bob

Now that is a cool story, Bob [emoji4] Can only imagine the thrill of handling those cars in such conditions..!

Kinda strange those fuel requirements tho...a full tank is way safer than one almost empty since the empty one contains much more fumes..

Anyhow, always fun to have special moments to talk about with fellowenthusiasts [emoji106]
