I don't have a 200A alternator, but I felt adding a NEW wire in parallel with my 30year old Wire would help regardless. Those wires are not fully sealed from elements and I am quite sure resistance of the wiring in my car has gone up in the last 30 years.

Now, I did a few things to my alternator (Keep in mind our CS-144 is the early model)
-Used the larger capacity Stator from the late CS-144
-New Rectifier (Heavy Duty)
-New brushes

-Used OEM Regulator and Rotor.. this along with LED lights everywhere helps eliminate some of the major loads..
