Default Re: 2019 ZR1 @ Drag Strip WTH!!!

There aren't many GM vehicles built since 1992-93 with the advent of the 4l60e transmission that don't have some sort or torque reduction or torque management. It was usually reserved for automatic transmission equipped vehicles. Many would drop engine timing advance during upshifts.

I wonder how the application of torque through a clutch as in the manual differs compared to the application of torque through a torque converter as in the auto trans vehicles?
Are the manual cars more apt to have the front end swap positions with the rearend?

Torque reductions is mentioned as part of the many nanny controls of the new Z.

Active handling stability control with traction control
  • Automatically helps enhance control, particularly during emergency maneuvers, by adjusting the brakes and engine torque to keep you on your intended path
  • Activates when vehicle sensors detect a difference between the driver's intended path and the direction the vehicle is actually travelling
  • Includes Traction Control that detects wheel slippage and applies brake pressure and/or reduces engine power to help the driver maintain control when accelerating on wet or snow-covered roads
Traction control, all-speed Performance Traction Management
  • Available in the Track mode of the cockpit-mounted Driver Mode Selector
  • Offers 5 settings of torque reduction and brake intervention for enhanced track driving performance
  • May require additional optional equipment
