Re: #473 Trans to ZF Doc

Same here with the jack stands and creeper. Worked out ok except for the hernia operation that it earned me. You are right, wrestling with that beast in that tight space is a workout. Bill is THE...

Re: Fried Bose front speaker amp

Excellent idea. Please let me know what you find. Didn't mean to sound professorial. The folks on this list are such experts and have helped me with so much, it's nice when I can maybe give...

Re: Fried Bose front speaker amp

Wow! I don't know how much you know about electronics. I've had a ham license since I was 15. Looks like it started with a short in that center structure which is a bifilar toroidal transformer...

Re: Fried Bose front speaker amp

That's a lot of damage to have not blown a 20 amp fuse. Would be interesting to pull that cover/heatsink and see what cooked. That's a lot of gunk to have come from even a couple of electrolytic...

Re: failure to start after warmed up

Sorry for long delay. Had a KNEE REPLACEMENT five weeks ago. Did a couple of thousand of them before I specialized my practice to shoulder and knee arthroscopy. Hurt like HELL and takes forever to...

Thank you, Captain! You were exactly right. I just talked to Jerry an he told me that you were great friends. He and I have corresponded quite a bit over the years. Going to order a new pump from...

Re: failure to start after warmed up

Thanks, Jim. I have a fuel pressure gauge. Will check it out. Sounds like failING is the operative term here since it runs fine at partial throttle even when warmed up and secondary pump shuts off...

Re: NO START on 2 ZR-1's

Hi Karlaw. I also sold mine because of the damned PASS key system. The pellet in the key has a specific electrical resistance. Measure it with an ohmmeter. You can find the key number that...

Re: failure to start after warmed up

Hi Karlaw. Fuel regulator is at back of plenum, has a round black top with a vacuum connection. Fuel lines run into it. It has a sensing diaphragm in it. If the diaphragm is ruptured, it will...

Question Re: failure to start after warmed up

Thanks Jagzpanzer. The only problem with that theory is that the engine should die immediately upon reaching 176 degrees F+/- and it doesn't. It runs just fine at its stable temp of 192 degrees...

Gentlemen:
Brand new problem. Car running fine after rebuild. Had my hair cut yesterday and got 92 ZR1 up to operating temp. Got back in car to go home about 30 minutes later. Starts, runs 3 or...

Re: Solid Motor mounts? Any options? Any interest?

I haven't broken any of them, but I am very familiar with what happens with repetitive cyclic loading. The first femoral stems for hip replacements were made of cast chrome cobalt stainless steel at...

Re: FX3 actuator rebuild/roll pins

I agree. Without the crush, I don't think that they will fit so the solids won't work. Aaron and Lynn at Captain Z just got in a supply of the correct pins and sent me some. They work perfectly. ...

Re: Solid Motor mounts? Any options? Any interest?

Great old adage applies here, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I rebuilt top end, stainless works headers, clutch, beam plates, fixed twenty oil leaks on my '92. Pulled mounts and cleaned them...
