Re: Headers

That?s a really good price on those. Years ago when I bought them they were 450. Then not long ago I only saw them over 600. Did the OBX business go belly up and they are liquidating?

Long read but some decent info

Alright, Team I got this finally resolved and she is back on the road. The fan shroud does rest against the end tanks of the DeWitts radiator. The spacers worked as intended when the upper shroud was...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Well, team I have resolved the heater hose fitting issue. A 1/2-14 NPT tap finished off the material left stuck on the threads. So that problem is out of the way. One more problem has cropped up now...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Thanks, Craig. Some patience and the use of a large EZ out, along with a 7/8 reamer bit has yielded some results. But not optimal, I do not advocate the method I used. I can now get about three full...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Well not great news on removing what was left of the heater hose fitting. It has pretty much fused with the threads of the housing itself. At this point, I am considering drilling out the material...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Hi, Craig! Oh yes, I already have the new and improved part on standby. Sure enough in Jerry?s description he mentions the factory nipple pot metal makeup and I just found that out. This stuff looks...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Alrighty, I am open for to some suggestions? Appropriately sized EZ out? This happened while trying to remove the plastic retainer from the heater hose. What is left of the aluminum gave up before...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Good to know and I also have a 200 amp alternator fitted, so the electrical demands should be covered. Do you recall the connector route you went with the spals? Figured I would ask before I start...

Re: Heater hose return fitting replacement

Well the assembly looks fairly sturdy so it should be able to remain in place. Does anyone recall how many amps the fan relays are rated for? I picked up some spal fans to replace the factory fans...

Heater hose return fitting replacement

Hello all,

For those who have replaced the heater hose return fitting on the remote thermostat housing, did you leave the housing assembly bolted in place during replacement?

Re: Rear Differential Gear Swap

You should be fine. I went from 3.45 to 3.90. Yukon brand pinion and gear and there was no issue.

Re: 19 Miles, 90 ZR-1 Selling Today Barrett Jackson

Unreal price to sell for. Alcohol must not have been flowing that day.

Re: Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch availability

I see those on RockAuto, but are they for DOHC? I would not think Chevy would allow something like a different AC pulley diameter for an LT5. I have an old screenshot of that same clutch and the old...

Re: Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch availability

Been barking up this tree for a bit. If I may add to the confusion, from the same site there is a listing in the link below for a clutch that ?fits? 1990 ZR-1s only. To my knowledge, there was no...

Re: Fuel leak somewhere

Good catch, Jerry. That?s right, the canister is also under the driver side headlight, just like the old L98 cars. No plenum dive needed for the 90 ZR guys.

Re: Fuel leak somewhere

First thing that comes to mind is the fuel vapor canister and purge solenoid. I had a solenoid go bad and give the same strong fuel odor presence. The solenoid is under the plenum. When the fuel got...

Re: HIGH idle

Off the top of my head, it may be a TPS adjustment issue. Even with an air leak of reasonable size, at its normal idle position, I wouldn?t think there?s enough fuel present intended for 650 to 750...

Re: Stalling sometimes at stops?

Another item to consider is the MAP sensor, which is on the back of the plenum. It has a plastic hard line that attaches from it to the back of the plenum to read vacuum. These cars do a decent job...

Re: Winter projects

That is precisely why I have never been fond of trying a Ram clutch setup. One small leak and everything but the kitchen sink has to come out to address the assembly. When they work, they work great,...

Re: Wiring Questions. Are The Positive and Negative Battery Cables ZR-1 Specific?

I believe the positive is ZR-1 specific. The negative could be any type. You could fabricate one but here?s a pic of what the reproduction looks like. 90-92 pictured that I?m aware of. If I recall...

Re: Mediocre A/C

I rebuilt my compressor, changed out the rubber hoses to the compressor, new accumulator, new condenser, new orifice tube filter, did the Marc Haibeck blower speed upgrade and recharged with R134a. I...

Curious to see if anyone is using the following for motor mount replacement.

Re: Stall under hard braking and MAP line is clear

Just a quick follow up that this is still in process. I fabricated a harness to plug in between the TPS and it?s factory connector so I did not have to tear into the factory wiring. So with alligator...

Re: Stall under hard braking and MAP line is clear

Appreciate the response, Xfire. Motor is not completely stock. TB went by itself to Marc a few years ago for rebuild. No stalling before or after I got it back. This is the first stall in about five...

Stall under hard braking and MAP line is clear

So I was thinking this is either the MAP and associated tube or the brake booster assembly. Out for a drive recently, I used maybe 3/4 of what one would use aggressively braking, so not quite...
