Re: Dyno rip of 1994 #15
Graham,
Was it the puffs of smoke that gave it away for knock? My experience is that if there is detonation it likely occurs between 4500-5500rpm on a WOT pull.

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
I don?t recall exactly. Its either the 12288 or the 12198. Both are SS dual 2.5?outlet/3? center inlet. The 288 is 14in. length and the 198 is 18in. I believe I may have used the 288s.

Re: Solution for B&B Exhaust Drone?
What Karl is describing is what was done w the C6Z. In order to reduce weight, Corvette went w an Xpipe rather than a resonator, and to duplicate the effect of the resonator, they adopted a muffler...

Re: Solution for B&B Exhaust Drone?
Just a long term update. Last year the DynoMax muffs had pretty much become a boom chamber. We opened one up and the insulation was totally carbonized. This time I decided to go w MagnaFlow muff w...

Re: Continuing angst... headers today...
I realized that my P/S motor mount was broken after I kept seeing that the D/S exhaust tips would always end up slightly crooked after a ride. And it was no matter how tight I would make the exhaust...

Re: Best Sounding Exhaust for the ZR-1
I recently replaced my DynaMax Ultraflows w MagnaFlow mufflers. Both have the Z06 NPP valves installed on them similar to the B+B Fusion system. The Maggies produce a more mellow exhaust note at...

Re: Looking for BMCB Bin File
I think u could essentially disregard the BMCB and just load the BKKR. The diff between the FOA and FO is pretty insignificant at this point.

Re: A question for the longtime owners.
Marty,
If I bought a C8 I know I would?t be wrenching on it. The ZR is one of the last generations that a ?shade tree? guy like me can play w and modify. That is certainly a big part of the fun.

Re: A question for the longtime owners.
This is my second ZR since 2007 having owned this one now since 2010. The chassis has 165k on the ODO but literally everything underneath and engine has about 55k or less on it. It pretty much has...

Re: Best Place to Buy Injectors?
RC Engineering has an easy BSFC CALCULATOR to help determine injector flow required to support a desired CHP. The stock injector flow is good enough for ~ 540chp w an 80% headroom from static.
I...

Re: Stalling sometimes at stop
Well I guess we can ask Marc next week. Closing the throttle plates causes the ECM to increase IAC steps in order to maintain commanded idle speed. This gives the ECM more ?headroom? to control idle...
