It's Actually got a hurst short-throw shifter so it does not have a lift ring.

Actually my ZR-1 is a '94 model with an original blue tag. However I did speak with Bill and he told me that I could swap the guide tube from my blue tag to my black tag, which will allow me to leave...

I see everyone is saying that having Bill repair the trans would be the way to go. Which is probably what I'll do. Just seems like there would be more shops out there that can service this trans.

Thanks for the replies guys, I did speak with Bill and he told me basically what Paul said above about the reverse idler gear and lubrication issue.
