Plan. B if I can't get Amsoil Z-Rod?

My car will be going in for some servicing the first of next week, and I don't think I'll be get Z-Rod by then.

I was looking for the High Mileage Mobil 1 at the local Wal-Mart, and all they had was 0-20 and 5-30.

Being in Canada, some of the smaller brands that can be bought in the US aren't easily available up here.

Any plan B recommendations? Oils that would do lesser harm?

Or am I overthinking it and any quality synthetic of appropriate weight would work ok for the time being.

Before I switched to Amsoil and after Mobil quietly reduced Zn and Phosphate level, I ran standard Mobil 1 10w 30 and added a half a bottle of ZDDP. Of course, no way of knowing if it helped or not was impossible. Nonetheless, put my mind at ease?

Find out if you can get this one https://products.liqui-moly.com/oils...-10w-40-1.html
I think it's sold in Canada.

It's a top notch German producer (actually not just the brand is German but it's MADE here) and that juice is optimized for engines that require a good chunk of heavy duty lubrication - as ours do.
No voodoo, just science ;)

I use Liqui Moly on all my cars and have been doing so for more than a decade. No issues so far.

I agree with you. A lot of people don?t know or trust Liqui-Moly, but that?s what I have been using in all my cars too. I?m going to try their oil for my Harley too. Top grade German engineering and science.

I am using Mobil 1 Formula M 5w 40 motor oil purchased from Napa. There is a QR code scanner on the label to confirm authenticity.

It is the same mineral content at the 5w 50 as tested here.

Sadly, I won't be able to get it in time. The closest distributor is 8 hours drive away. But definitely will keep it in mind for future use.

Thanks!
