Vanity plates only cost $25 in NH and a new plate only costs $8 more, after the State took away the first one, it's been a new one each year.

Texas used to charge $40 extra for a personalized plate. Now,it's $195 for one year or $500/five years.

I had that plate in Texas from 1998-2003. Seems like others had it too in five or six different states.
Cost of the plate back then was $40 extra. After that,Texas contracted it out to a private firm and they raised the rates to the moon. Most of the people that had custom plates when that happened,let them go back to the state.
