25th Anniversary of the Record Run
On March 1, 1990 Tommy Morrison, John Heinricy and many others began the Record Run in Ft. Stockton, TX. Also present was Hib Halverson, the only media member present, and you can read his account of the Run HERE. The Run was successfully completed on March 2 (the 154th anniversary of the declaration of independence for Texas).
So, weather permitting, you might want to start up your ZR-1, run a few laps around the neighborhood, and tip a few to celebrate one of the outstanding moments in the history of the ZR-1. If you're not already planning to attend the May Gathering in BG, you might try to make it this year, the 25th Anniversary of the Record Run. http://www.zr1netregistry.com/portal...ral/689.01.jpg |

Re: 25th Anniversary of the Record Run
We had 4 Bay Area ZR-1s at the Blackhawk Cars and Coffee yesterday...3 are in the photo. Great weather, a whopping 770+ car turnout, and I even got pooped on by a bird...

Re: 25th Anniversary of the Record Run
Hello from Switzerland,
25 years ago, a nearly stock car was able to do this. The one and only ZR-1! This performance is even today outstanding, because this car was not purpose built. I hoped Chevrolet would celebrite this in some way. Nothing!!! Me and my family, we have some Chevrolets, 3 pickup trucks, 3 Blazers, the '90 ZR-1 + 2 other Corvettes ans a '64 Impala SS 409/425 hp. The reaction of GM (doing nothing) gives me another reason to buy never again a Chevrolet in future time! Have a good time and keep the legend in best condition that is possible, Franz |
