Will do. I am thinking the race only hood is lighter.

It's between the carbon fiber or this light weight fiberglass.

Re: Just a Thought (Group Buy)

Something's wrong here. Toledo Pro used to advertise their fiberglass hood as saving more than 20 lbs. What's the deal? Plus, how can they offer CF at the same price as an old Toledo Pro fiberglass hood?

IMHO, a ZR-1 specific hood should have some design mods.
The LT5 runs much better when cooler, so the vents, (with some water drain provision), are a great idea.

A slight rise to clear the engine, (like the active suspension ZR-1, not the Toledo Pro 3" "Race" hood), would be effective too. My motor, with 1/4" resin plenum plates, is actually vibrating against the hood. That's less than ideal.

So, why not design one like GM "shoulda done" back in the day. Not just for weight, but for more effective air flow, to solve clearance issues, and to set the ZR-1 noticeably apart from the regular C4.
If it had all those factors, and a good fit, I'd be a buyer.

+ who's going to be the guinea pig to see if it actually fits? 20 or more sloppy, ill fitting hoods would be an aggravating group buy.

A pic of that GM ZR-1 specific hood:

My favorite C4 ZR-1 hood. It clears the big engine, but no massive rise to interfere with sight lines.
