101 miles and not a drop of gas

Went 101+ miles without any gas.

If I could go 7 hours 27 minutes without "gas" it'd be a miracle. I eat way(whey) too much protein. Like really, I need to be attached to a burn-off stack.

Seriously good for you, Ive recently started getting back into weight training. I tell you it feels good.

Well Paul, I wasn't referring to that type of "gas" but u Canucks always have a lighter perspective on things.:cheers: I am glad u have discovered that exercise has made a difference in your life. I will tell u that cycling has made a difference for me. No statins, no enalapril, no anti-depressants. No medications. However, I do take a dose of ZR-1 every once in a while. That and a glass of red wine.

Very nice work, Xfire. That's a real endurance test.

I've done a couple of centuries over the years. First 50 miles are fun, the next 25 you start to feel it, and the last 25 are pure perseverance. But always a good feeling to finish.

Been mountain biking more the last 7-8 years, but still have the road bike.

Keep up the great work.

I actually felt pretty good for the first 75mi and I was not dragging at the end. We had decent weather and I used Vlasic Stacker pickles and Pimento olives to stave off any cramping. Worked great. The ride was well supported and that makes it easier.

That’s pretty impressive . You must have been booking it to do 100 miles in under 8 hrs .
With traffic and stupidly low speed limits , it take 8 hrs just to cross Toronto which is 22 miles wide or more . Well not quite 8 , but it sure feels like it .
Congrats on the super ride ...

You can see from this graph, we were above the avg for most of the time. Some 10+mile segments were averaging 16.5-17.5mph. But u can also the the dips below the avg which were the supported stops we made along the way. We had about 13-1400’ of ascent. Not much of an overall grade but we had mainly
2-4% climbs. Just not very long ones. So we’d stop every 10-15miles to hydrate or deal w mechanical issue like my Speedplay cleats. 😱😆
