More car shows, more enjoyment.

A view I am quite fond of:

I have found a very small hole in a section of plastic tubing in one of the refrigerant lines. At some point I need to drain it and replace the section. I actually think this may be the culprit of some of my recent engine temp concerns. As the fluid leaks the AC system must work harder to compensate, which dumps more heat into the engine. Running without the AC on basically eliminates my problems. Once fixed I am hoping the AC won't affect my engine temps quite as drastically.

I am a member of Old Dominion Corvette Club as they host a bunch of local-ish events to me. We took part of their 34th Annual All Corvette Cruise-In. Despite being scorching out it was a good time.

Of course we were at Carlisle, too. Great to meet everyone. We didn't shine her up until the last day on account of the weather. Phil Wasinger allowed me to borrow his Tech-1A to try and troubleshoot an issue I have been experiencing on cold start.

Yesterday the weather was too nice to ignore. We popped the top and went for a ride through Shenandoah. Nice drive with great views.

Looking good Zach! We replaced my coils and now my stumble is gone. While we were there, removed the starter and replaced it with a rebuilt one. It was showing lots of signs that we made the change just in time.

What symptoms were you seeing?

My engine stumbles the first time i lift off the gas after a cold start. Sometimes that stalls it. It'll start right up afterward and not do that again until the engine completely cools down and is cold again.

Anytime over 3000 RPM it would stumble. Also while going down the highway in 6th gear at 70 MPH if I hit the throttle it would stumble. We believe one of the coils was on the way out and by changing all 4 it solved the problem. Now I have all the horses running!

Glad to hear! Did you already swap from the 410s?

That will need to wait until Wazoo maintenance day and Ricky driving down from NJ. No rush on that, others need to get their cars running right first.

Have you already been thinking about what you will do for speedometer correction? Or did you already have a correction box that you can adjust? I think it will be hard to find the right correction gear for the 3.73 unless you already have one.

Getting the correction gears for any ratio is not a problem

Its been a busy 6 months!

I had the car at a show down near Culpeper in November at Brandy Station Fire Department.

https://www.zr1.net/forum/attachment...1&d=1711436002

At this show I ran into someone I knew from an Archery club I am a member of. Never knew he was big into cars. We got to talking, and I shared with him some of my woes when it came to my wheels.

https://www.zr1.net/forum/attachment...1&d=1711436002

Ever since I bought the car the wheels have been extremely oxidized. I had tried a number of wheel cleaners but nothing ever worked to clean them up. He had an idea, and as it turns out he recently moved and now lives extremely close to me.

He turned me on to Speedy All Metal Polish. With a couple drill-attached buffers it made pretty quick work of it all. Far and away better than anything I had tried previously.

At some point I will remove the wheels and get inside the barrel as well, and probably ceramic coat them. The big lesson though, is I really need to get a face shield before I do that again!

It looked like I was wearing eyeliner for a week.

The clean wheels really make the car look better. It really pops. At the Remington car show a week or two later a small boy pointed at the wheels at told his dad they were super shiny. Definitely made it worth the effort.

This doesn't nearly cover everything, more to come!

Awesome job on the wheels, the car is loving you as the owner!
