the fog lights are grounded through the High beams (90-older) so there would need to be improvements to that circuit. it was improved on the 91-later cars with a relay

You lost me on the above, Jeff.

I'm looking at a MY90 wiring diagram right now and the fog lights are not grounded through the high-beams, but they do share the same ground connection. Left is G115 and right is G116. From an electrical standpoint, I don't think "grounded though" and sharing the same ground point are the same.

But then...maybe I'm missing something.

isn't this the same as the 90? I scanned it a while ago and it might be 89.. I know the 89 and 90 are very close for the forward electrical harness:

Here is the MY91 (forward harness changed):

I will check my 90 FSM tonight if time allows

That scan is from the MY89 FSM.

So it appears the LED headlight upgrade would be a good upgrade and use less power.

With LED Headlights your foglights will no longer work properly. Is that correct?

Has anyone tried using E Code lenses and HID conversion kits?

I think the fog lights will work correctly due to the way the wiring is set-up for 90-95 ZR-1s

I have E-Codes and I forget which wattage bulb, they are better than stock though. I don't have HID but happy with the light output of the ones I have.. I think they are 55 watt and a bit better than the Silverstars I had in my last vette..

In my ongoing testing of the Nighthawk LED systems, that is proving to be the case so far.

I have not tested that set-up but I can tell you from reading anecdotal accounts from various places on the web, they don't work very well. The problems I read about are:

1) Lots of glare to oncoming drivers.
2) Not very good light pattern because E-code reflectors are designed to work with H4 incandescent bulbs not HID bulbs.
3) likely illegal in some states.

What they will achieve is making sure oncoming drivers know your car is equipped with HIDs.

The only C4 HID conversion which anecdotal accounts indicate may actually work well is the product sold by CorvetteHID.com

There we have it. Spoken by an anecdotal daily driver who has been running this mod since 2012

Probably need to have your headlights aimed. If people are flashing you when you're on lo-beam. You likely either have the lights aimed too high or the back of your car is staging.

If you reaim the lights you may find that in high-beam the lights actually work better because they put more light on the road and less into the sky.

Good luck!
