The gas tank on my ZR1 is a total rust bomb and I need to replace it. Anyone got pics of fuel cell installation in our cars. I heard that ATL has a nice road race style cell but I dont think my budget will allow it. Has anyone here done a drag style cell that looks clean? Any help would really be appreciated.

Fuel Pump part numbers:

GM Part #25163473 ($72) *Fits '96 Suburban with 454 Engine

I remember there being a fuel tank replacemnt from a Suburban, but it seems it's just the fuel pump.

I'll do more checking about the fuel tank.

cheers

David

The ATL tank is a road race tank and quite huge. There are a couple of other suppliers who have smaller 5 gal cells that would be ideal for a drag only car, but depends upon what you are looking for.

Any C4 tank will work.

Kinda want something with a rear sump. I realize that no cell will be a perfect fit but id rather run a small cell than weld a sump into a stock tank. I have some nice aftermarket pumps left over from other pojects that I could use. I wanted to fab a new rear support for the cell but I was thinking of cutting up the stock tank support and using it to make a cage for the cell. I have a 5 gallon aluminum drag cell but Im thinking something a little bigger would be more practical. I dont cruise or take long trips with the car so range isnt a concern. Anyone know how much that ATL cell goes for? Is it even still available? Anyone else running a cell? What supplier has a drag style cell for C4?

ATl still makes them. They have several sizes available. Some guys completely remove the factory tank mount and fab up their own, and others have modified or just used the factory mount. The ATL tanks are not cheap.

Nothing from ATL is cheap. Im probably gonna have to fab something. Im trying to get this thing done soon so I can ride. Its been a while since my ZR1 moved on its own power.
