Fastenal said they can have it for me by tomarrow morning. It comes in 50ml tubes. I hope thats enough for the valve covers. Tried to get A136. You can just forget about that. And even if you do find somebody who has it the shelf life may me expired. So I'm going with the 518. Now I need to find the compound for my throttle body. But that won't keep me from reassymbling everything. I can always go back in there with an acid brush and apply it.

Do you know how much is needed to do the two cam covers and case/block? I am thinking I need 3 tubes, but not sure as I have never used the Loctite 518 before. I agree that I'm not going to try to find/buy the A136 stuff.
Thanks!!!

Thanks!!!Yeah I gave up on the A136 urban legend. But the 518 comes in 50ml tubes. After using it to seal the valve covers I still had 1/3 a tube left. I just hope living on a rock in the middle of the Pacific doesn't delay you getting some. And if Fastenal doesn't have any in stock they always deliver it the next morning. Only $18 a tube. If you pay more than that your getting ripped off. Really good stuff.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. It sounds like I might only need 2 two tubes then at the most to include doing the case too.
I ended up finding these guys: http://www.toolfetch.com/Default.aspx
It was $14.81 and the Loctite 565 I need for the liners, etc. was $41.05 for the 250ml so seems fair. Yes, I could not find anything on this rock so doing an internet order. Thanks again!!!

$14.81 is a great price. You can't beat that. I'd buy three tubes for that price. Better to have more than enough than not enough. Of course that stuff won't even dry until you have a metal to metal seal.

I buy mine in the 300ml 'Caulk' gun tubes. To do one (1) LT-5, end up using maybe 15%-20% of the tube, tops, or roughly 60ml. To use say 25% of a big tube would be laying it on fairly heavy, IMO.

Thanks guys, I was worried about it getting old and drying up but I better get more than not enough like you said. :handshak:

If I'm not going to use my tube for a bit, I tape up the top with black Electrical tape really tight. Haven't lost a tube to hardness yet. Just have to be careful when applying it, these engines have such a good fit due to machining, don't need to slobber it on & over do it.

About an 1/8" bead is what you need. You will still have some ooze out, but it wipes off easily enough.
