I finally found one, and it was only 20 miles from home. After looking for 2 months and looking at a ZR1 in Idaho and San Diego I finally decided on this one. Not my first color choice or rim choice. But the more I looked at it the more I fell in love. It's a '91, red/black. Bought it from a dealer so I don't know what mods have been done other than Power Effect exhaust.
The paper work is done, just need to pick up the money tomorrow at the bank and go get it.
I'll post a link to pics when I get them uploaded.

 :dancing:dancing

Congratulations :handshak:

It looks great, and the red will grow on you. I did not want a red one myself, but eventually fell in love with mine. Your ZR-1 rims look great as well.

Assuming you find the time tomorrow, let us know how much fun you had driving her.

Car belonged to Rob Melbo. Contact him at locobob68 (at) hotmail.com

Car had the following mods.
Power effects exhaust
Ported Plenum and injector housings
Powdercoating on the top end pieces (let me know if you want the center plate on the throttle body to match the rest.

Apparently the last time I heard about the car it had a few trouble lights on.

How could a red Z with A-molds not be your first choice??? Congrats on the purchase, sounds like it should be a blast!

Thanks for the info Jeff. I will email Rob to see if he has any other info.
The only trouble light that comes on intermittently is the "Service LTPWS", I found that to be the low air tire warning so I'm not too concerned about it.
Everything seems to work great and runs strong
PM the cost of the center plate.

Thanks guys. Heading to the bank when they open to get the money and then go pick it up
I really liked the sawtooth rims better in both pics and in person. The pictures of the A-molds do not do justice to them. After I saw them in person, I looked at a Z with sawtooth rims. There is NO comparison which one I liked better then.
I originally was looking for black exterior, but the red does grow on you.

Whoo Whoo!! =D> :handshak: Welcome to the "members" fan club! We got our ZR1 approx 4 weeks ago and I still can't stop saying "Look, honey! There's a ZR-1 in the garage!" I'm looking forward to seeing your Z in person in Utah at the ALMS race in July!!

Congratulations on the new Z. I've had my 91 for about 2 years and have loved every minute of owning it. Spin up that LT5 and enjoy.

Glad to see my old car is in good hands  The LTPWS sensors are not on the car hence the warning light, you can pull the bulb to get rid of it. The car had a OTS DRM chip as well as the factory chip when I sold it. I did the porting work on the intake - partial siamese job. It dynoed at 374rwhp if I recall correctly. The guy I sold it to was going to add an X-pipe to the exhaust - not sure if he did or not, you should take a look underneath and see. It had 2.5 in pipe where the resonater should be and replacing the smaller pipe with a larger x-pipe would be some easy HP. Add some headers and a good dyno tuned chip and I'll bet money this car will see 400rwhp. I'll send you some more details on the car via email.

CONGRATS sledutah I'm sure plenty of ZR-1 guys will trade u their sawblades for the 5 spokes. I too prefer the sawblade look but most are the other way around..ie u can see the red (brembo's ?) peakin through!!! :happy1:

Thanks for the info on the sensors. It only comes on intermittently and resets when you shut the car off. Since it isn't on all the time I "assumed" that the sensors were there. I'll pull the bulb to take care of that problem
I'll have to check the x-pipe later.

Any information you have, I would appreciate it. This is my first corvette, but not my first fast car!! So I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

Thanks,
Craig

Thanks for the tip. The 5 spokes are growing on me (along with Red ext), and I really like the look of the brakes

I was originally was looking for one just like yours (Black/Black w/sawblades) but couldn't find one in good condition for the right price.

Took her around town yesterday to run some errands. Got alot of "Cool car", etc comments. One guy told me it was a nice vette...., then asked if those were ZR1 rims. Yes, I say and it is a '91 ZR1 car too. He about fell over :blahblah: :dancing Guess you had to be there, you all know what I'm talking about

Anyway, she ran great and I'm one happy camper :mrgreen:
