I know what you mean. I have polished classic CCWs and decided I am going to PC the center pieces black (on a Red Z). I am still going to have some chrome with the bolts and polished lip with Carter's ZR-1 polished center caps. I did not care for the polished look on my Red. It took awhile for me to make the decision (a few years in my case). I PC'd my stock centers black and left polished lip and love it so decided to go black with the CCWs. At least the Yellow is so rare so you'll be a little unique either way you good. Great price and best wishes with your decision.

I forget what year yours is? I meant to mention that I went with black centers because of the 90 and the black molding really sets off well.

Yes, I'll post some pics after I get them done. Right now I have drama rebuilding the LT5. I think it will look really trick, but you know how that goes in our own minds. Yes, now I remember you Z and also saw your post on the "OTHER" site. I like the black centers, but your Z does look nice the way it is now too.....hmmmm, I see why it is a tough decision for you.:dontknow:

Personally I think the "dish" look on the 5-spoke looks odd. Maybe it's just because I know they are cheap chinese knock-offs?
I'd say do it right and either get GS wheels and spacers, or some Z wheels and refinish them black.

do they have 36mm offset? if not you need spacers then too

Fair enough that you don't like the design. At the same time, for the price:
Almost same weight as GM rims
Powder coated with guarantee
You can bolt them up and return them if you don't like them.
The rims are the correct offset for ZR-1
I must  at your comment though as I have original GM chromed rims and several sets of rims for my car. I scratched one and it was difficult to get a replacement. I had to get a repro for a upcoming show and it was identical, have had the same rim now for 8 years.
The original GM rims I think say JPN or Japan so these are made in China and they are automatically a cheap POS?
For a 3rd or 4th set of rims, I think these rims are good bang for the buck.
Here is a "cheap repro" while my GM rim got fixed. You can't tell the difference and yes, the rim is in round and light.

I guess GM rims are not cheap because they are made in Japan?
I have multiple GM rims so why do I care if they are not original GM?
I'm not here to pick a fight, just thought some people might be interested in a good deal. Also I found a company that does Chrome Rims out of California for a good price with a 2 year guarantee.
I like the deep lip.
I would prefer them either in chrome or silver.
You say they are $500 is that for 2 fronts and 2 rears?

When I cheked these out they were under $500 shipped to my door.As far as price goes you cant beat it.Another plus is the finish.Ive never seen these wheels in person but I know they have got to have a better finish then the OEM GS wheels. The only place on the OEM wheels that have nice paint is the face or front of the wheel, all the other surfaces of the wheel the paint is thin.

I thought you were asking for opinions, which is why I put mine forth. Sounds like you are sold, so I look forward to pictures of them on the car.

You can get them about $450. Plus, they will let you return the wheels even if you mount them which alot of places will not. Of course you would have to pay the $80 bucks or so to ship them back but much better then having to deal with rims you don't like. A guy on CF posted his car with these rims and it looks pretty good.
I have decided to stick with the chrome for now. Thanks for every bodies help.

I'd say go for what you want... Those reproduction wheels are great for a DD and the cost is no brainer! (looks good too)
The GM rims aren't done cheap, but the the Chroming process that some people do, IS!

This seems really idiotic, but since you seem to keep pushing it. I gave you an opinion on the specific black ones you included in the opening post. Maybe that was too far off topic for you? If you don't like my opinion, you certainly don't have to follow it. You should buy whatever does it for you.
As for GM rims, my opinion is not that they are cheap. But price is all relative. Compared to $500 for 4 wheels, they certainly are not that cheap.
I am not following on the Japan logic? Maybe you're confused? Japan isn't part of China.

I asked for opinions on different types of rims. I didn't ask in the post if you thought the rims were cheap.
So basically you told me to buy GS GM rims and "do it the right way" in your words) which is $2,000+
So you want me to spend $1,500 more (for wheels from Japan instead of China) and still buy what you consider "cheap" rims. Makes alot of sense to me
Thanks for the geography lesson but I know Japan is not part of China. I'm basically stating that the GM rim is made in Japan which really is no different then being produced in China.
I guess you feel you need to spend $3,000 to $5,000 for decent rims. Honestly, most those rims are too over the top for my taste although a few Fiske's and HRE's are nice. The rest of them are way to blingy.
Your point is taken. Anything under $2,000 rims are Cheap. I get it!
Three other people with very nice cars have contacted me in regards to these rims.

A few thoughts:
- I haven't seen a color of a ZR-1 that I didn't like. Some colors I like more than others. A yellow ZR-1 pops!
- You'd have to work hard at finding a wheel for your car that would not look good. Whether black, chrome, polished aluminum, or any combination - they would all would look nice. Something about the combination of yellow and chrome also pops!
I know they are not for everyone but I like chrome wheels. With that said, I've had a difficult time over the years with chrome wheels holding up over time. My old muscle cars had chrome plated steel that rusted. My chrome plated aluminum eventually peel. The last amolds I had I paid a small fortune to have one of the best trick plating houses in California prep and chrome a set of OE wheels. It took 8 years but the plating finally started to peel.
I now have a set of polished aluminum CCWs. Somewhere over the years I convinced myself that chrome was "whiter" than even polished aluminum. Today, while I'd admit to them each having a different look, I'd be hard pressed to say I like one more than the other. They both pop!
- I'd go with either the chrome or polished aluminum. They'll both pop!
