It seems that my -90 ZR1 has broken DIS module. It gives SES code 42 and Corvette service here has check connectors/pins. Code wont go away it keeps coming back.

Where I could get DIS module for -90 ZR1? What would it cost? Is it possible get used one? I heard that its uncommon that it gets broken. I would need one shipped to Finland.

Get ready to bend over hold on to your angles.

You have to supply Vasoline :)

A member just paid $2500 for one.

How do you know your DIS is bad?

Usually if the car does not rev past 5k rpm is when the DIS is bad.

Very rare DIS go bad.

DIS module this doenst ring a bell with me.....

If theres a module on this car I have one.

why isnt this ringing a bell not the spark module under the plenum?

If so I might have a extra one.

But I have all the others as well

Yea John that's the module he is looking for, the spark module, aka DIS module or Ignition Module.

Hey Mika, tell them to visually check all the pins on all the connectors to see if one was bent upon reconnecting them.

Pay special attention to the large connector at the back of the module. Those pins are very thin and if the connector goes on cocked, they will bend easily. Ask me how I know this?

Seriously,

I wish people would stop blaming the DIS module for the code 42, you're barking up the wrong tree. It's almost never a DIS that goes bad.

The problem you'll find is your ECU & is more than likely a ground circuit inside the unit itself.

Switch the ECU with a known good one & you'll find your problem.
