I run 35psi front and rear. I never really played around with it much though. But the tires are wearing well.

Thanks guys.. also pulled the spare out (again...damn that tray collects dust and things) and thought of something.... the donut is 20 years old...assume same rule applies as age vs condition for the regular tires :dontknow:

I've used my spare twice in the last 5 years of ownership. Once on a 3+ hour trip back from Englishtown NJ. It has worked just fine, though it looks old and makes me pretty nervous.
The problem is, what can you replace it with?

Assume you probably could purchase a new donut...but would not come with KOTH grease penciled on it

Goodyear stopped making the spare tire in around 2000.

Slam dunk end of issue...so we are stuck with the OEM donut

There may be alternatives. I am curious about the '08+ CTS spare tire. It's an 18" wheel with the same overall diameter. It also is aluminum and the spokes flare out (hoping they will clear my brakes).
But it's very hard to find one to test fit it before committing.
