I read a post a while ago on Turn One having an aluminum power steering pump for LT5s. Turns out they do have one that is a direct replacement. Weighs 1.5 pounds less than stock and costs $250.

Not yet....mulling over if 1.5lbs is worth $150 over a stock unit.

Very true Lee, however I was looking at the overall "form factor" of the unit and to see if its a viable replacement option for the community as a whole. The weight reduction was an added bonus. Small but some would agree early pound counts.

Where this particular weight is located (high and forward) is a multiplier for corner-carving. I'd have done it if my rules would allow ;).

The aluminum should shed heat better too. Also important in my application. Still too much of a rule stretch.
