Ran up to GLD:

First run hit the rev limiter: 12.55 @ 117.55: 1/8 mile 8.23
Second run did a burnout through 1st. gear, 2.4 60ft and ran 13.57 @ 116.26
Third run spun the wheels but hit 12.68 @ 117.43 1/8 mile 8.36 @ 89.81.

My last two runs saw a significant drop in MPH 12.7 @ 113.6 and then last run was a 114.3 at 12.8. Not sure what happened. Even in the 113.6 I ran a 8.33 1/8 mile. The car seemed to lose the back end power. The only thing I did was pull the chip and tried to put a moates adapter on it to run another program. I could not get it to work, so I put the stocker back in....no SES lights.

Ran on Sumitumos, they were not bad, I could launch at about 1800 without spinning them.

Put my time in the DA calculator, I think its wishfull thinking, but here is what it spit out:

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
12.368 @ 119.442 MPH

Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
12.465 @ 118.644 MPH

Let me suggest that you "drain" the ECM when swapping proms. Perhaps the SES light caused the ECM to throttle back even tho you replaced with original chip.

Largely due to operator error, best I could muster today was 114.21mph @ 13.235.

I simply could not launch the car properly. Either spinning the tires badly or (mostly) bogging on takeoff.

My best 60' time was a poor 2.304 on that same run.

Here's what the DA Calculator told me...

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
13.015 @ 116.182 MPH

I was running my Haibeck chip and forgot to bring the Cory Henderson chip with me. I suspect the Henderson chip would have been better as it takes out less timing.

Looks like I need launch lessons, any volunteers?

Hans,

I think you are running too rich. I ran a near stock 90 to 12.88 at 112.68, that car even has the same tires as yours. I think I could only muster a 113... in yours with a ported intake and headers. Something is off on the low end, and you are picking up big MPH after the 1/8th. I think your speed at the 8th mile is only about 83MPH.

I recently put a Haibeck chip in my 90 that was intended for a ported car. After driving it for awhile, I thought I had a miss or bad coil. Once I went back to the DRM chip this afternoon, no issues. I think maybe you should try a milder chip and see if that resolves some of the issues.

Obviously data logging would be the best thing to do.

My 1/8th mile mph was 84.7, still crappy. We'll see how the Henderson chip does.

Ah, Yes, Late 60's
Union Grove, Close to the border, I remember
We wre running a 67 GTO, low 11's

Good MPH.
You guys need to get some Drag Radials.
Or slip the heck out of the clutch on street tires.

If you get better 60ft your MPH will go up.

Another reason MPH will drop is a slipping clutch,no other changes.
