Travelling from Tampa to Carlisle on Thursday, best airprot price wise is BWI, @ 2 hours drive time, any other options?

Drove there before, want to fly this time, it's only $140.00 RT. Is BWI the best airport?

you can try Harrisburg, it probably will be more expensive though. Harrisburg Airport is less than 30 minutes from the fairgrounds.

How much is it to go to philadelphia?

They look like the drive would be about the same

Im coming up 95 but need to drive because im getting some parts for my 68.

From a cost standpoint, I would think BWI would be a hands down first but I don't know what fares into Philly run. I'm thinking Harrisburg would be the most expensive.

From a drive point of view, from Harrisburg to Carisle would easily be best (a pleasant ~30 minutes drive). My second choice would be BWI to Harrisburg (typically less than 2 hrs) and then Philadelphia to Harrisburg (typically more than 2 hrs) would be my last choice. If you fly in to BWI or Philly, I'd be mindful of rush hour traffic. I don't know about Philly but if you get into BWI either mid day or after 7PM you stand a strong chance of the drive not being too bad (but you want to be well through Baltimore by 3PM). If you think Florida has traffic, you havent seen anything yet...

One other alternative that would rival BWI in price is Dulles International Airport in Virginia. It isn't a bad drive (typically less than 2 hours from Dulles to Carlisle) but you MUST avoid it during rush hour. You would need to get into Dulles by 10AM-12Noon (and immediately get on the road) or after 7PM.

Kurt, BWI is a good airport to go into. The airport itself is outside the city and the drive getting in or out is easy. Makes your drive up to Carlisle perfect. I flew into BWI two years ago on my trip to Carlisle.

Check for flights into Harrisburg... A friend just booked a ticket Sunday to Florida (Orlando) for CHEAP!! There is a connection though, not direct like BWI.

BWI is 2hrs without traffic too. Harrisburg is 30min.

Harrisburg looks like a good choice, only $157.00 RT from Tampa with a lay over in Charlotte for an hour or so. That one looks better, BWI looks iffy for a Friday night rush hour return.
