1990 ZR-1, losing coolant, coolant smell inside cabin. Heater core had finally started leaking. This job is sooooooooo much fun. i would rather be pulling the engine out. Does not help that extra wiring has been added all over the place on this car.

Upper dash pad removed.

That job is such a pain in the ***, but its even more so with all the extra wiring you have there!

whats the dash have like 12 bolts holding it in so you can access that black box that houses the heater core.

I guess those mice like the coolant!

I've got to redo some of the wiring that was done previously. I would like to redo some more as some wires were left as exposed with just solder. [-X

Lordy... better thee and me. That job is not for the faint of heart. What is all the 'extra wiring' for?

Holy chit! :jawdrop:

My 72's H/C was an easier job than this looks to be, and I thought that job was a royal PIA! I think I'll do without heat if mine ever starts leaking.

Well starting to button things back up and noticed the mouse has caused a little more damage than initially thought. He chewed up the vacuum harness line going to the AC controller to the temperature valve actuator. I'll have better pics soon. Now to wait on parts http://forums.offtopic.com/images/smilies/iorun.gif

All I can say is that only a part of what Johnny did on my car. Johnny had the cabin an empty shell. :worship::worship: Johnny, do you still have those pics?

That job is my most frequent nightmare. Any suggestions for staying off that job for as long as possible?

I've got to redo some of the wiring that was done previously. I would like to redo some more as some wires were left as exposed with just solder. [-XI went through the same thing on my 68 mustang. There was more non factory wireing than factory. There were wires that were spliced from the splice off the splice. I found it easier to just rip all that crap out and buy a new dash wireing harness then I could actually use the 68 wireing diagram and all of the colors matched and made sense.
