View Full Version : rear brake lines rub the wheels

I know some of you have had this issue when changing to braided brake lines. I have it big-time now and need to fix it. I went to 13" rotors on the rear and the caliper is moved closer to the wheel, so the line hits the backside of the rim solidly. And they get whacked by the clip-on weight on the edge of the rim.

I will probably try some zip-ties to pull them out of the way a little. But will they melt from the heat? Or will they bind up the line since they aren't elastic?

How did you all solve the problem? And what did you attach whatever you used to to pull the line back?

Hmm... I guess I could try? It of course only happens with the wheel on, so it's pretty hard to snap a picture.

Zip ties work for me and I expose my car to the some high temps when on track. The rear brakes don't get that hot to begin with, now the fronts are definitely a different situation.

I also have the 13" stock (front) rotors in the rear.
