I recently inherited a ZR-1 from my father. I believe the owner who had it before him may have had a minor "environmental excursion" because the passenger side headlight bracket and the lens are different from the driver side. The lens on the passenger side is plastic instead of glass and it's very opaque at this point. I'd like a glass lens for the passenger side if anyone has one they are willing to part with.

Thanks!

I have a good used one. I bought it as a spare. Make me an offer. Shipping will be $5.50.

Original headlight lens are plastic for reduced weight. heavier glass headlights caused early headlight gear failure.

Now, having said that, I have a similar problem with the original headlights, the lens are not nice and clear any more. I've replaced mine with Sylvania halogens and it's a huge improvement in light. If the gears wear out, oh well. I'll just fix it & go to the better gears while I'm at it.

Ahh, so they are entire headlight assemblies then and not just lenses covering bulbs? Interesting. I'll probably just end up purchasing two identical new ones so they match then. Thanks!

I think plastic headlamps were used in the ZR-1 strictly to save weight; the motor bushing failure didn't show up until much later. Gordon insists on replacing glass bulbs with plastic to save the bushings. I'm not so sure that headlight weight is the real reason the bushings fail; it's more likely the assembly slamming into the up and down stops.
