Here's a hint, look at the coolant passages.
Is that normal? Is my plenum jacked? I have to wonder if that hasn't been the cause of most of my "disappearing" coolant issues, as well as how poorly the TB gasket holds up in that area.
I went ahead and re-installed my TB bypass pipe, this time putting a flare on the ends of the pipe first to avoid another disaster. I've gotta think that lack of alignment can't be too good.

Wow!
Is your throttle body and plenum original pieces with the car fro, the factory?

Don't sweat it. Its normal for a 90. I'm P/P mine right now so its easy for me to take a look at it. But I've never experianced any coolant loss ever. There's something else going on there.

Thanks for taking a look at yours and posting the picture! I wonder why they are so crooked?

I thought it might have been to avoid drilling though some other passege way. But after looking at my throttle body and plenum I don't have a good answere for it. It's probably making mountains out of mole hills to really worry about it. I'm sure you've taken the plate off to see what that coolant goes to. It just looks like a hot tub for ants. But I guess thats all it needs to keep the throttle body from freezing up.

Not sure I believe that losing coolant issue can be ascribed to the throttle body. Need to make sure it's not disappearing somewhere else. Check you plugs for steaming.

That's really weird, the plenum from my '90 has those crooked holes also. I never noticed it before. I wonder why they are like that? Are all ZR-1 plenums like that?

I never noticed the alignment when I did my pull. I just went to look at the 91 plenum I just bought and the holes are not level either, not too far off but not level.
I can take a pict if desired, I just have to go get my camera as it's in my Z.

What does steaming look like on the plugs?
I'm also checking the system pressure to make sure it doesn't over-pressure at high rpms, per a suggestion from Marc H.
The car doesn't lose a lot of coolant, but I do have to add a bit now and then.

While I was downing some french toast and drinking a kick azz cup of dark french roast coffee It hit me. The reason one hole is lower than the other could be to allow the coolant to drain out of the cavity at the lowest point. Otherwise the coolant would just sit in that cavity. And you know how coolant can turn to cottege cheese if it dries out. I drew up a PDF. of it. Its a little exaggerated but you can see what I'm getting at.
