View Full Version : ZR-1 Net Registry FORUM RAFFLE
Z Factor
09-20-2005, 06:54 PM
As many of you know, we conducted a posting contest for the most posts within a one month period. It was a success, and there was some good natured competition for the ZR-1 Keychain. (BTW-For those unaware, the contest was won by Jim Jones of Ohio) http://www.zr1netregistry.com/forum/images/smilies/eusa_dance.gif
For those of you who like to post on the forum, but do not want compete for a prize, we have decided to conduct a free raffle. There will be three prizes awarded, namely the 2nd & 3rd place winners will receive an exclusive Limited Edition 15th Year ZR-1 Anniversary Pin. Only 300 were made, and once they are gone that is it, so try to win a piece of history. The following link shows the pin;
http://zr1netregistry.com/ZR1registrystore/
The Grand Prize winner will receive the holy grail of books in the ZR-1 community, "The Heart Of The Beast" by Anthony Young. This is a great book that is mandatory for the collection of any ZR1 owner or enthusiast. http://www.zr1netregistry.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
To be eligible to win one of the prizes, the following will apply.
1) You must register on the forum with an ID. Guests will not be eligible.
2) You must list your location in the space provided in your profile. If you are already registered but do not have your location listed, go into your profile and put it in the space provided. Your state will suffice if you do not wish to list your city.
3) You must have a total of 50 posts by the time the raffle drawing is conducted, which will be held on December 27th, 2005. If you were to register today, you would only need to average a little over 1 post per day to be eligible. Of course if you already have a post count, it will take very little to reach 50, and if it is already higher than that, you are already eligible.
4) You will be free to start threads and/or post as much as you like in the appropriate section. However, while we are encouraging you to post more frequently on the forum, you cannot just post smilies or one word comments in an effort to reach 50 posts. The raffle winners posts will be generally scanned before notification to insure most forum activity was not just free posting.
5) You must also post once in this thread. This can be a free post with a simple smilie or hello if you wish.
6) Everyone who is registered on the forum and has 50 or more posts is eligible to win with the exception of Dave, Larry, or myself. The winners will be determined, announced, and notified within three days of the raffles drawing.
Our goal is to make the ZR-1 Net Registry Forum a place for you to frequent, make new friends and converse with old ones alike. We all share a passion for the ZR-1, so come spend some time on the forum, and help make it the premier place to interact with your fellow ZR-1 owners and enthusiasts.
GOOD LUCK
JIM

That's what I figured. Sorry Jeff - I'm not into this juvenile crap about posting garbage to earn stars etc. If I have something to post, I may post. Truth be told, the ZR-1 section on the CF is pretty dead these days - I mostly frequent the C5 FI section or the C6 Z section. Sign of the times I guess - all the fun is in the FI LSx or new Z sections - mostly the FI stuff interests me though. Discussing map sensor can get old after a while! ;)

I also see your point, but just like on the CF, we have a system to identify core members by either their length of time on the forum, or the amount they contribute to it. Our system actually allows core members to issue/deduct reputation points based on their registration date and their posts counts. Future reputations will have a ZR-1 theme to them rather than the current generic ones. That said, the whole system is not going to appeal to everyone.
All of the effort we are putting into the site, such as the raffle is geared to having valued and knowledgeable posters like you frequent the site more often. When you share your stories or help out with your technical knowledge, it helps everyone. We have added the Corvette Babes and Racing sections for posters such as yourself who requested them. So while you may not post for the sake of number counts, we hope you find this forum an interesting place to interact with your fellow ZR-1 enthusiasts.
If you have any suggestions as to how to make the site more interesting, please feel free to let us know.

It might be that you saw the Posting Contest that we had a little while back had already been won.
The Forum Raffle is still going strong. As a matter of fact, we are going to extend the date for the drawing so that more forum members will be eligible. We will be sending out the notice of the new date shortly along with posting it here.

Hello everyone,
As you can see we have changed the date of the drawing from November 15th, 2005, and moved it to December 27th, 2005. We have also changed the number of posts required to be eligible from 75 posts to 50. We hope you understand that there were several reasons we extended the drawing date and changed the post requirement for the benefit of the forum. For those of you who worked to get your post count up to 75 prior to the original date, our hats are off to you, well done.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

This is not actually a posting contest like we ran before, but rather a raffle. So anyone with 50 or more has an equal chance of winning. If you are referring to Larry (gaijin), he like Dave and myself are not eligible to win.

For me to know that, you would be assuming we have the same taste in movies since it is not from a classic. While it is a good movie, only a fan who has seen it several times would pick up on this, since I believe she says
"They mostly come at night,....mostly."
Any doubts as to whether I know which movie you are referring to?

Jim,... That is outdamnstanding!! No doubts whatsoever, you kick @ss my friend.
The only discrepancy is where you mentioned the movie is not a classic, I beg to differ that movie kicks a firm @ss and is one of the greatest classics of all time! Definetley one of the best of the 80's thats for SURE, and there were some really great movies in the 80's... And I'm not biased at all ;)
