Had this steering wheel made several weeks ago, what ya all think? also here are some pics of the caps Carter made for me several months back. I polished them at first but when I installed them in the engine bay it just didn't look right. When I get my car back I will have to see if painting them black does the trick. I'm having a shifter boot & e-brake cover being made now to match the steering wheel. When I get my stimulus money from the gov. I will have the seats done the same as well. :dancing

Ricky,

I like the steering wheel. It looks classy.

I think that the covers will look better black that the way they were before. I just think that shiney accessories on an LT5 stand out too much and detract from the bulk and powerful look of the engine. BTW, I was at a show today and was looking at a very nice 1996 C4 with an LT1. Beautiful car but the engine compartment just looked empty. I guess I am use the the LT5 filling all the space.

Keep up the good work, I hope you get your car back soon.

Jim

Yes, I met them at an Atlantic City Corvette only Show. They are heavy into the C5, C6 stuff (what shop isn't) First time they did a C4 wheel. Very happy with their work and communiction skills.

Rick, man you're amazing!

And the car is gonna be sick when you're dunn!:worship:

I really like the "blacked out" idea on the oil filter cover.....hummmm, you just gave me something to try out. It does stand out, kind of too much bling for me. Sorry Carter:redface: no offense. The quality of the machine work is top shelf....it's just that it's soooo big & shinney and I think I may try the LPE paint and then do the letters flat black & the "1" gets victory red.

DSV does amazing work and excellent pricing... I converted my 05 C6 from the 4 spoke style to the 3 spoke (06+) style and had DSV do the custom work including CF the side spoke pieces>>>

GC, had my painter do them, Carter did all the script work. The pics don't do the caps justice. My painter does a lot of the custom bikes in the area and he received endless compliments on the peices before & after paint.

Yea, still there. Marc has some great communication skills and all seems to be going well. Big Show & Go @ Englishtown Racepark on Aug 1st. hope to have the car by then, if not then we will shoot for Carlisle. The time is in the details. Most of you know how it goes "well if your doing that you might as well do this" it seems never ending. Looking forward to my 1st trip to the Chicago area. I heard there are some fast Z's roaming that area. :worship:

Does the coolant (radiator) cap replace the stock one or does it fit over the stock piece? The cap that says 15psi. Reason for asking I have a cap Carter made for me and it touches the underside of the hood.

Dennis,
Nice to here you are still kicking. This is the FIRST time I have heard of your hood interference problem and you go and tell the world here. Nice [-X

How about some professional courtesy. You know you have an aftermarket hood. Did you ever think it was the hood that was the problem.

The radiator cap cover works fine on my "stock" hood. Getting blind sided was not what I expected from you :icon_scra

Sorry Carter. Didn't mean it like that at all. I am in no way upset. Just was curious that is all. You KNOW I have ZERO problems with your work.

Gerry is the man,Im always amazed when I see something new from his shop.I talked to him yesterday, hopefully Ill have my wheel off today and get it in the mail tomorrow.Nothing fancy, smooth leather, black stitching.Ive got an extra console door that I might send along and have it done with matching leather with a seam up the middle to match the seats.
