I managed to damage the sensor that screws (upward) into the middle, underside of the block, next to driver-side the exhaust header. I'm out the door on my way to work, and wuz wondering if anyone knows what it is and could post it soze I can maybe round one up today? It's a rather big sucker - 'bout an inch in diameter with a single wire connection in the center. Any guesses?
TIA...gotta run!

Knock Sensor Good Luck, I bought one from parts House And it didn't work You Have to ohm them the ZR1 specific is about 1/2 the ohms of the regular GM's & It Took 8 Degrees Of Timing Out At An Idle.

Knock sensor...Yep. Didn't know 'bout the impedance difference; thanks Bob for the heads up on that!
Well, I'll ohm the sucker out. In the mean time - since it was just a portion of the ring around the nipple that broke off (i.e., the sensor itself is OK) I'll kluge something up with a special jumper and zip tie it in place - should hold up for the Bloomington Gold - "Gold Tour" next Saturday at least!
Thanks all for the responses, Lee n Bob. & special thanks too for the tip on the resistance issue, Bob. Good to know!
