I purchased a new Idle Air Control (IAC) valve on Ebay under auction number #180276769364. I am always leary about buying on Ebay but I want to share with my brothers when I find a great deal. The item is 100% correct and fits like a gem. I decided to replace mine as my idle aways took a few seconds to calm down and am happy to report this $19.99 part fits like is should and comes with two new position screws and a new O ring gromment. The part number is an AC5. Sellers name is http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gifglobal-automotive (http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/global-automotive/) I have been told you can clean these and return them but for $20 and I did not know how many miles this IAC had on it as I had never had replaced it. I really could not see the rub in doing so. Seller has 5 more available so if this post helps a fellow member out great.

Heres a pic of my old unit, (Dirty and Nasty eh? Even the grommet looked like toast) And the new unit along side of it. The only difference in the part I removed and these new item is the body is angled different but there is plenty of IAC plug to support the body difference and you would have never known if I had not told you. It looks fine, cant wait to run around town to see if the idle is more predictable. Cheers

GC,

Is it the pic or is the pintle on the new IAC smaller than the old one?

Dom it appears that way in the pic but I assume thats the angle on the picture I will look at the two items tonight closer and see what I see. My idle is in the 850 range so I assume all is well.

That's a great price indeed, they sell ign. coils too for i think less than $20.00 and they are exact the same as stock, fuel pumps for $24.99 etc etc. there prices are very good and they ship quick too, everything is made in Taiwan though, if that bothers you.

At least Taiwan is an ally, better than China

Well China owns Hummer now so why not. I agree with what you are trying to say. Coils under the plenum.. Delco all the way, even assembled in Mexico. But an IAC valve that does the job for $20 and is a 2 min install and easy to get to and looks like the stock unit. color me interested.

If it is smaller, then the question is whether it seals completely. Secondly,
it may need to open less or require fewer steps in order to allow the same amount of air. The ECM won't know this. If its running right that's great.
