I guess I should be thankful the listserv is screwed up and I only receive 1% of the emails.

Its the typical Hib and JVD B.S. dog and pony show. Nobody knows anything better than they do.

If it werent' for Red Line and Fluidyne, Hib would be penniless and somebody here would have to take him in, the poor bastard. :sign10:

Hib occasionally has useful tidbits of knowledge to share but his abrasive, condescending communication style tends to negate its value. Don't let him get you all worked up Pete, that old saying about wrestling with a pig comes to mind.

Pete,

I'm absolutely with you. That list is a BORE at this point. And then they go and throw a political Molotov cocktail just baiting people. Don't they have a business to run or something?

I use beer in my ZF6 , much less friction. But it foams a bit.

Is that beer with an ester base :icon_scra
Hib is not a bad guy in person.
Have no idea why he jumps on folks for
expressing a preference for anything but RL.
I mean, even if it is great stuff and he make $
by promoting it the slams about being ignorant etc
are disturbing.

I tried that, but discovered that the squeezings of fat off Canadian back bacon is incredibly slippery in the ZF6 without the foaming problem. Best of all once it is time to change the squeezings the old stuff is all natural and biodegradable. I sent the first vat of used squeezings to Gore for him to give his royal approval. He replied that they were delicious and can't wait for more to spread on his pork rinds. I guess that explains the size of his huge azz.:dancing

Does he? I mean, if he's paid to promote the product, that is certainly relevant information to his "opinion" about what fluid to use.

I'm certainly glad there's both a forum and a list. I skip a lot more of the stuff posted to the list, and would hate for the forum to turn into more of that.

It was/is a rummor on the list. I have read the implication more than once.
It may be an indirect "pay" or conflict of interest if it is adds that go into the magazine he writes for. dunno for sure.

The question is do we really need the listserv ?? If the question is a valid technical one with redeeming graces and not a political one, it could post to Technical questions in the Registry post. All the unnecessary bs and posturing could then be monitored and shut down if off subject. Food for thought.

There was much discussion about this a few years ago. Basically there was a large group who is lazy and wanted the info to come to them, rather than go out and seek it.

Never too late to make changes. I am older than Hib, JVD, Glenn and others and I embrace change. Sometimes, the endless babbling just makes me want to shout "Get a life".

Personally I'd prefer folks keep some of that "remember when" crap on the listserv than to have it move over here. I kind of like having the list and the forum.

I would hope the moderator could control off subject stuff appearing here. You might be right though, it may be too much to ask.

Most of what occurs on the listserv ends in short order, and does not migrate over here. As always, we strive to allow people the right to express themselves without being heavy handed. However if you feel something is not appropriate, then you are always welcome to hit the report button and it will be reviewed.

ALL I CAN SAY IS DEJA VU

PETE KNOWS WHAT I MEAN BY THAT ONE

How to Be Humble

"In reality there is perhaps not one of our natural passions so hard to subdue as pride. Disguise it, struggle with it, beat it down, stifle it, mortify it as much as one pleases, it is still alive, and will every now and then peep out and show itself...For even if I could conceive that I had completely overcome it, I should probably be proud of my humility." - Benjamin Franklin

"It's hard to be humble," says an old country song, "when you're perfect in every way." Very few people, of course, actually think they're perfect in every way, but it can still be pretty hard to be humble, especially when you live in a society that encourages competition and individuality. Even in such a culture, however, humility is an important virtue. Learning to be humble is of paramount importance in most religions and spiritual traditions, and humility can also help you develop as a person and enjoy richer relationships with others.
