Got a few chips in the Dymag paint from taking them on and off, was thinkng of switching colors to the old bronze/gold used on mag wheels in the 70s.

Can anyone photoshop this color onto my wheels?

Here ya go. It's not exactly what it would look like if you actually painted them, but I think it's pretty close, gives you an idea of what it would look like anyway. I think it actually looks pretty good with the red:

That's a motif popular back in the late 70's and early 80's when Burt Reynolds
was nailing Sally Fields in Smokey and the Bandit. Wheels look way too heavy
IMO.

Please don't paint it black and throw a screaming chicken on the hood!
(Mine is black minus the chicken).

Thanks for posting, if the car sat lower, I think they would look better.

9 out of 10 Cylons prefer polished gold . The flat gold does not go right with that beautiful red car. I have to agree the flat silver is probably the WTG here Lee. GC

Don't get just one gold tooth, get yourself a full grill. I can hook you up if you want.

OK, I want to know how to do that.
I know how to clone and such with transparancy set to 50%
or so but how do you get the color in and keep the background
image? Photoshop ..... but what else...

I didn't know how to do it before I did that pic either. I've messed around with Photoshop before but just really basic stuff. I played around with the options, did some searches on the internet and finally figured out how to do it.

Basically what I did was use the 'extract' feature in one of the menus, and extracted just the rim from the rest of the picture (including between the spokes as best I could). Then I used another thing called 'match color' where you first select the pic where you want to match the color, then you click on the pic that has the color you want to match. I had to also extract the gold rim from the other pic, otherwise it matches/blends all the colors in the pic with each other and it won't look right.

I tried to use 'replace color' first, but I couldn't get it to come out right. The gold was always too light, I couldn't get it to be darker. 'Match color' seemed to work a whole lot better. Then after I matched the color, there are adjustments you can play with (luminosity, saturation, color lightness/darkness, etc.) to fine tune the match to get just what you are looking for. Using 'match color' makes the new color sort of transparent so that the light/dark areas still show through so it looks realistic. Then I copied my modified layer back over the original picture, merged the layers and then saved the new pic as a JPEG.

You can do amazing things with Photoshop, but it there is so much stuff you can do that it takes a long time to learn it all. I just seem to be naturally good at figuring things out even if I don't necessarily know a whole lot about them.

You can have whatever you want. The longer the message, the more teeth are covered. If you want some fangs that too can be done. Once you get your Z in the 10s down the quarter mile we can get real creative.
